TIKKI Sewing Workshop - Upcycling old textile goods into Potholders!
This beginners sewing workshop will allow you to get stitching (on a machine) and start your upcycling journey!
Time & Location
Sep 05, 2020, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM GMT+12
The Buzzstop Honey Centre & Cafe, 26 Hansen Road, Frankton, Queenstown 9371, New Zealand
About the event
In this workshop we will be making our own Potholders from your old Jackets, trousers or heavy weight textile goods. SO, remember to bring along an old textile item for upcycling! We will provide the tools, batting, machines and thread for you guys to sew. If you prefer using your own tools and machine, feel free to bring it along as well!
During the workshop we will be cutting out our fabrics and batting (woolcool), attaching the batting to the fabric by practicing our freestyle top-sitiching to create quilting lines of your own design, then sewing the top and bottom together using binding on the edge.
T I K K I   Studio aims to provide accessible and fun sewing workshops as a social space for people like you to feel empowered to sew, repair or upcycle your goods, so come along to our workshops, have a blast and walk away with a bit more experience on the sewing machine.
Looking forward to meet you all. BOOK TODAY and like us on www.facebook.com/tikkistudio
Cheers and have a good day
Sincerely,
Nina
