About the event
Stitch IT: Sewcialize/ Repair workshop
Supported by Queenstown District Council Waste minimization fund
and Supporting Fashion Revolution New Zealand and Dove Hospice and Wellness
For this month's Sip + Sew is now a Stitch It event where we will be sipping, sewing and repairing at Gantley's Tavern. Our main focus for this month's event will be teaching new attendees in our community how to repair on the go by learning how to handsew. If you already know how to sew, you are welcome just to work on your project and hangout! Anyways, we will all gather together to socialized by sharing tips and tricks, have a blast geeking out about sewing, textiles and repairs, and making a step towards becoming a Fashion Revolutionary.
The primary goal of Stitch It is to empower individuals to extend the lifespan of their clothing through the mastery of core skills in mending and upcycling. By equipping ourselves with these valuable techniques, we can reduce waste, save money, and make a positive impact on our local environment. Furthermore, all the proceeds from the Stitch It workshop series go towards supporting the essential services provided by Dove Hospice & Wellness, which are available to the public free of charge. It’s a win-win situation that allows us to contribute to a worthy cause while enriching our own lives.
Participants will get food and drinks discount if you attend our event! So let's make it a sewing night out!
Sip + Sew workshop is a monthly event where we can kick back after a long day, enjoy some wine and do some sewing!
